2014

My 2014 Plan

My first post of the year! I was supposed to put this up on the 1st (then supposedly on the 2nd), but we spent the whole day just lounging around enjoying Osc’s last day off. Then we were off to a very close friend’s annual family reunion (nakiki-sali kami! :D) and got home around midnight already. 2013 brought in about so much life lessons and challenges. I kid you not, it would probably be the hardest year of my life as a married woman and a Mom. And wonderful blessings arrived in terms of sponsors on this blog  and in …

Mommy and Baby Care Packs for Typhoon Yolanda Survivors

** EDITING THE LATTER PART OF THIS POST TO CLARIFY SOME THINGS ** It’s hard to take in how much damage and loss of life Typhoon Yolanda has brought to our countrymen in the Visayas region. I am brought to tears whenever I see photos on the news or watch a video being shared on my Facebook feed. Like many of you must feel, I just want to go there and help out personally. I want to pray for them, and embrace them. Assure them that God is still good and they will be taken care of. I’m sure many …

Mr. Jacob’s Mom: New Look, You Like?

After 3 days of working on this little baby, backing up files and pictures, making sure I don’t lose anything, making sure every thing fits perfectly and all plugins are working right, we are finally up and running! Welcome to the new look of Mr. Jacob’s Mom! This was actually supposed to be done end of September, but I had so many things going on last month that it was only this week that Oscar and I got around to doing it. But I’m happy it’s done and the design is just how I wanted it. Well, if you can …

Relaunch Sneak Peek!

Well, obviously I haven’t blogged in days! We’ve been preparing to relaunch Mr. Jacob’s Mom and I’ve been busy arguing with myself whether or not I should keep the “Mr. Jacob’s Mom” brand or be “Mommy Roxi”. The only reason I wanted to change my blog’s name/brand is because I was thinking of my future kids and how they would feel if years from now, I am still known as Mr. Jacob’s Mom. Well, my Mother-in-Law put in a great perspective on things and helped me decide finally: Mr. Jacob’s Mom is more “cute” really, than Mommy Roxi (yeah, that …

Blogger-to-WordPress

Migrating Soon and Birthday Giveaway Part 2

I’ve been busy conceptualizing for the new look I’ll be giving this baby after I migrate to WordPress that I’ve been completely ignoring my writing duties! I’m so sorry! If you know me, I tend to over-analyze everything and want every detail to be perfect. The new look of Mr. Jacob’s Mom will be completely different from the current one which is very colorful and cutesy. I’m so happy with what Ro Little of Mommy Blog Designs did on it that I’m actually sad to part ways with my (slim!) vector self and a little baby Jacob. I think it’s …

Lifting-Everything-To-God

Lifting Everything To God

I was baptized as a Roman Catholic when I was little. Grew up in a household where going to Church on Sundays can be an option, depending on your reasoning. Most of the time, I didn’t want to go. The only time we truly went to Catholic Church every Sunday would be during vacations in the US where all my sisters together with their husbands and kids would religiously go. I enjoyed those times though because Sundays there would really mean going to Church and spending quality time with each other afterwards. Back then, I didn’t really take interest in …
