Pregnancy Corner: 36 Weeks Pregnant

12:40 AM, August 4, 2014 I was just about to drift off to sleep when I felt something wet dripping down the side of my left thigh. I first thought I had peed myself from drinking so much water, but was shocked to see bright red blood on my hands when I wiped it off to check. I didn’t get up, I just shouted for Oscar who was in the kids’ room/his office. When I got up, more dripped down my legs as I made my way to the bathroom where I felt the need to pee. More blood was in …

Pregnancy Corner: 34-35 Weeks Pregnant Update

Let me try and get an update up now before a new week starts and before things suddenly start rolling. I’m putting up updates of my 34th, 35th and 36th week of pregnancy. I am now 36 weeks pregnant, and boy, have we been through a lot these past week. Below is an account of what happened two days before I was 35 weeks pregnant. August 2nd, I had my repeat ultrasound scan because the week prior to that, it showed that I had low normal amniotic fluid. My AFI was around 7.7 cms. I wasn’t so concerned at first …

32 Weeks Pregnant and Preparing for the New Baby

I am 32 weeks pregnant and running (not really, ‘coz I can’t!) around crazy trying to get things ready for our little September baby. While I have his clothes and receiving blankets ready in his own closet, they still need to get washed with Cycles Laundry Detergent. I’m actually excited to wash his clothes because I get to smell that baby-smell again! I also got Jacob’s old car seat and stroller out ready to be cleaned, as well as his Fisher Price bouncer. Look at how pristine I’ve kept them all. It pays to be an OC mommy! Honestly, the …

Typhoon Glenda

Are You Rainy Season Ready?

We’re in the midst of Typhoon Glenda, but luckily, we haven’t been feeling it’s wrath too much here even though the storm signal has been raised to #2 today. Anticipating the storm, I did the groceries last Monday and included a few necessities should we be stuck at home. To add to my plastic box container of emergency supplies, I got two 6 Liter Absolute water and Jacob’s milk. Apparently that much water is not enough for our household. According to this infographic from UNICEF Philippines, each member of the family should have at least 4 liters of water per …

Let’s Catch Up

Hello I’m back! These past few weeks have been tough. Here’s a series of updates for you guys. I was puyat for about a week, got sick again with cough and colds, and now have been getting frequent Braxton Hicks contractions. My puyat is because of a recent loss in our family. My Mom’s sister passed away last week and we’ve been going to the wake after Osc’s work. She was put to rest last Tuesday at Loyola Memorial Park next to family who have gone ahead of us. I just couldn’t write about anything, let alone think, when I’m …

Mom’s Separation Anxiety

Yesterday in Church, I found myself crying after dropping off Jacob at Kids Church. See, we go to Victory Fort where kids are encouraged to attend their own version of service while Mom, Dad and the rest of the family attends the main adults service on the second floor. Since turning 3, he has moved on to the ‘Orange Room’ where kids aged from 3-4 are. Before that, Oscar would accompany him at the Toddler’s Room. I loved when we started at the nursery room, so many cute babies! So now that he’s in the preschool room where it’s encouraged …

Happy Busy Mommy

I’ve been a busy Mom lately what with the renovation on our master’s bedroom rushed to finished yesterday. It’s a happy kind of busy, the heat aside that makes me dizzy from time to time. But more importantly, adding to my busyness, we enrolled Jacob at a Nursery Summer Camp and it started last Monday. So I’ve adjusted our whole schedule so that we all comfortably wake up at 6:30/7:00 AM to get ready for school that starts at 8:00 AM. Luckily though, his school is just 5-10 minutes by car so we don’t have to rush. He goes to …
