HELLO!

Yes, I am still alive! I have been MIA for A WHILE. I really have no other excuse other than physical life demanded more attention and that I’ve lost my mojo with blogging. I think I started ‘falling off’ my routine when I got sick back in September all the way to October. I was negotiating with myself that if I stop blogging, I need to start vlogging. Two of my so-called passion in life. You know how you envision yourself doing things you love, enjoying it every moment and as bonus, earning from it? I get those moments, every …

The boys' room for 5 days.

Birthday Staycation at Astoria Plaza Ortigas

I had big plans for my birthday weekend. I was going to spend every day we had at the hotel with friends doing things I love. But God had other plans for that week. I got sick to the point that I voluntarily had my blood checked if I had dengue. My fever spiked to 40*C the whole day Tuesday, then nothing the next. Then back again. Oh I just didn’t know what to do anymore! I cancelled my plans with friends and even our hotel reservation (but turns out they didn’t move it). My blood work came up normal, …

Hello 2015!

We are 8 days in and I had just found the time to sit down for a few minutes and write. I had just put down the boys for their afternoon nap, but knowing Wacky, he’ll be awake in a few minutes so let me make this quick! No, no resolutions for this Momma. My goal this year is to make things better in all aspects of our lives: faith, family, health, and wealth! I hope everyone’s holidays were fantastic! Ours was just spent mostly at home spending our much much needed quality time. You see, Oscar works for an …

#SantiagoBros & Post-Partum Tales

I’ve finally put up our birth story after 3 weeks! Forgive me for not writing a lot. Believe me, I have lots to kwento but I often choose to sleep with my newborn than sit in front of the computer because by the time I finish it would be time for him to nurse and ‘play’. While he’s really not much to interact with, I spend his awake times talking nonsense to him about his goofy Dad and super kulit Kuya. I also learned he likes massages, especially when I massage his legs. He’s a bit ticklish in his tummy …

Wearing Maternity Clothing at Functions and Events

It can be a nightmare at the best of times in buying the perfect frock for a Christmas party or Birthday. Finding the right dress when pregnant can be doubly difficult. It can be maddening enough just doing a normal shop over the silly season run up to Christmas, having to jostle and push through the masses of shoppers. Thankfully, the internet is here, so we can browse thousands of web sites all selling what we want at ease in Australia. This helps not just with the ease of purchasing, but in my local town there is only one shop …

Joaquin’s Birth Story Pt. 2: My Repeat CS

Part 2 of our Birth Story and my repeat CS. You can read Part 1 here. D-Day I kept waking up in the middle of the night to pee. It was terrible not being able to drink water since I was on strict no food or water fasting after midnight. I drank water ’til it was 11:59 PM. Haha! Oscar and I woke up around 5AM. Well, he found me awake moving about the room, cleaning. I clean when I’m nervous or stressed. I was scheduled to be brought down to the OB Complex for prep at 6AM, delivery at …

Joaquin’s Birth Story Pt. 1

Hi everyone! Sorry for my blogging break. We’ve been terribly busy physically and emotionally because of our newborn! I had a repeat cesarean section two weeks ago because it showed on my 36th week ultrasound that my baby boy is a bit big for his age and my lower uterine segment has thinned below what my OB-GYN was comfortable with that would allow me to do a VBAC. Today was supposed to be my due date! But our little boy, Joaquin, is 3 weeks old now and we’re all just so in love with him! Let me share to you …
