Jacob’s 3rd Birthday Weekend at Astoria Plaza Ortigas

Originally, I wanted to have just a simple house party at home for Jacob’s 3rd Birthday. But the house was a mess and I didn’t have the energy to clean it all up. Plus, I didn’t want to prepare all the food for the party. Our second option was to have a swimming/bbq party for him at my In-Law’s place in Makati. But having picnic tables for all of us (including guests) were not sure because it was a shared picnic and pool area with all the condo residents. We didn’t want to bother them with the logistics and preparation. …

Tips on Traveling on a Plane with a Baby

When I look back at our holiday trip last 2011-2012 to the US, I am happy for two reasons. One, we got to spend Jacob’s First Christmas with family in the US. It wasn’t exactly a white Christmas, but it was a freakin’ cold one! If you know me personally, you know how much I love spending the holidays in the East Coast that here in toasty Manila. I feel like the holidays are much simpler there. And we just have one to two big parties to host and attend to. Second, I am glad we decided to travel thousands …

Mommy Mondays: Sonya’s Garden

We spent last weekend in Tagaytay City at my Godmother’s family vacation house. I’ve been looking forward to going out of town with Jacob because we haven’t taken him anywhere locally yet. We just had a long weekend, but since Oscar’s job doesn’t work around holidays in the country, we only got to spend overnight in Tagaytay. Our view last weekend. I had everything packed two days before, because knowing me, if things aren’t 100% packed at least the night before, it would take me 2 hours to get everything ready during the morning. So I woke up just before …

Baby’s First Trip: Detroit to Manila Part 2 (Nagoya, Japan)

So initially, we were supposed to only have 2.5 hours of layover in Nagoya, Japan. But fate had other plans. After being stuck in Detroit for 7 hours, we obviously didn’t make the cut-off time for our inbound flight to Manila because of the runway being closed in NAIA after midnight. Read on! Baby’s First Trip: Detroit to Manila Part 1

I’m splitting this leg of the trip into 3 parts. Mainly because it took forever to get home because of so much delay and one night spent in Japan. For a baby’s first trip, I think this part was the hardest because we didn’t have enough supply to go through the delay. But had to make do by re-using clothes after showering (eep!) and saving the last bottle.
