Engineering for Kids: After School Activity

Jacob’s into building things while doing arts and craft at home or with his Lego. So I was thrilled when Engineering for Kids Philippines invited us for a trial class last Saturday at their main center at Forbeswood Parklane at Bonifacio Global City. I was told by Lalie Odal, their marketing director, that Jacob can join their Junior Engineers class even though he just turned 3 years old so long as he can understand basic instructions well. What is Engineering for Kids? [symple_box color=”blue” text_align=”left” width=”100%” float=”none”] Engineering for Kids brings Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education to ages …

See? These were the first things I bought for Joaquin while I was pregnant. I'm loyal to Cycles and Cradle!

Things We Love: Avent Bottles, Pigeon, Cradle, and Cycles

Last Saturday, the three of us had a family day. We rarely go out, really. Usually we’d just stay at home or visit Oscar’s family in Makati. Living so far away, it takes so much effort to go out, especially now that I’m 7 months pregnant. So when we go out, we have to go out with purpose. This time naman, we were meeting the buyer of my iPhone at Trinoma. So we did everything we could that day already. We had light lunch at Italianni’s where we ordered a Classic Caesar Salad and Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillet. I personally …

Lazada: Our Baby Must Haves (or Wishlist!)

Now that we’re pregnant for the second time, I feel like we’re more prepared when it comes to gears and clothes. We probably won’t be needing to shop for clothes for the baby for the first few months since I carefully tucked Jacob’s clothes away as soon as he outgrew them. If we’re having a girl, we’ll probably get some cute onesies but not so much since they grow so quickly! But I still find myself wanting to get some new or replacement baby gears so here’s my wishlist all found from Lazada‘s extensive Kids and Baby Department. 1. Halo …

Things We Love: Pigeon Sakura Baby Toiletries

I’m very maarte (picky!) with what I put on Jacob’s skin. I was actually hesitant to buy skin products for him at the local grocery from major brands here for fear that they contain super harmful ingredients like Parabens. His skin is sensitive like mine so we prefer using trusted brands rather than the easily accessible brands in the market. Even with products labeled for babies, I would do my research first and check the ingredient list and go through them with my cousin-in-law who’s a chemical engineer. I know, OA but research shows that our skin absorbs 60% of …

Things We Love: Graco Alano Travel System

I think one of the most important baby gear I truly researched and thought about was Jacob’s car seat and stroller. I wanted to get one that we will get to really use from birth up to his toddler years. I ultimately wanted whatever car seat and stroller we’d be getting to be from Graco. I grew up knowing Graco as a wonderful brand for babies and my nieces and nephews used them. Why did I want to invest on the best travel system? For safety reasons obviously. While putting a child in a car seat is not a big …

Things We Love: A Great Deal from Drypers

I can’t stop raving our favorite diaper because it’s been the most reliable one for us. We’ve tried other brands in the market, even the well-known ones, but nothing can compete how comfortable and content Jacob is with Drypers. He was already wearing large during this time! He almost never get diaper rash because he’s always washed with water and soap. But when he tried this other brand of diapers that’s very well-known, he had rashes around his buttocks and lower back where the ‘elastic’ band ends. Since then we decided to never use any other disposable diaper aside from …

Fun at Kidsville

I’ve been really excited to share to you this wonderful place we discovered last month. If you grew up in Manila in the 90s, you’ll probably have memories of going to Kids at Work or Kids Station. They’re similar to Chuck E. Cheese’s! You get to play in their active gym or the pretend village. And I found one for Jacob to enjoy! Let’s play, Mom! Kidsville is located at the 4th floor of The Podium Mall in Ortigas Center. Yes, it’s pretty far from our place, an hour and a half away but it’s worth the travel! The only …
