What Would I Do If I Had 1 Million To Spend on Wacky?

Okay, I’m still a bit GGB (gulo-gulo buhay!) because we had just gotten home from the hospital. Little Joaquin had dengue and we had to be confined at St. Luke’s Global. BUT I really wanted to share with you guys this because it’s one of those things that goes through my mind when I get some quiet time (aka when all the boys are asleep and I have finished my Mommy duties). There have bee so many times I have thought about what I would do if I win the lottery. My list goes on and on depending on how much the jackpot prize is. A little bit silly because first of all, I don’t play the lottery at all (LOL) and second, what are the chances really? But Pampers is giving all of us mommies the chance to WIN P1 MILLION PESOS just by doing what we’re already doing, buying our babies the best and driest diaper in 10 years, Pampers Baby Dry! We brought with us at the hospital a pack of Pampers Baby Dry Value Pack and it lasted us a a day and it lasted us throughout our whole stay. Why? Because Pampers Baby Dry kept Joaquin dry no matter how much he peed (and he peed a lot because he had an IV on). He never got rashes from it kasi nga it’s highly absorbent and it doesn’t leak pa.

Oh Mommies, we can make our baby’s first come true by buying Pampers Baby Dry and checking our packs if there is a WINNING TICKET inside. Nakakaloka! I like the chances of this better than placing my bets on the national lottery.

But what would I do if I had P1,000,000 for Wacky? At first I was thinking, how about Jacob? Should split the 1M between the two? But I did include some stuff on my wish list that would ‘cover’ our whole family too in a way. The responsible adult in me says put it in a high yield savings account or some investment (this is what the Daddy said when I asked him!), but being the “fun”, often carefree/less Mom that I am, I want to indulge my baby with some things before putting them away for the future.

1. Bring Wacky to Avène Hydrotherapy Center in France

Avene Hydrotherapy Center

Okay, I STILL haven’t blogged about Wacky’s eczema story yet or even blogged about Wacky at all. And we are 6 days away from his birthday. I will make up for this soon because we’re at the hospital right now. He had dengue fever pala. 🙁 BUT ANYWAY, Yes, I want to bring him to The Avène Hydrotherapy Center in France for his atopic dermatitis or eczema. Since he was 2 months old, we’ve been battling his acute chronic eczema. We’ve gone through rounds of oral and topical steroids, and nothing seemed to help here. We only found relief from a doctor in London! How I wish we have eczema specialists here in the country so we don’t have to go all the way to France for this. This could be a family trip though, so kasama na kaming apat dito sa wish na ‘to. 😉

At this center, we wish to help “cure” Wacky’s eczema. I intentionally put quotation marks on that because simply, there is no known cure for eczema aside from what I’ve been reading, a complete lifestyle makeover. He’s just turning 1, he has no lifestyle. He has milk (his special formula) and lots of veggies and fruits. I think he’s good in that part.

2. Go to Cars Land

cars land

He’s starting to enjoy playing with his Kuya’s matchbox cars and watching Lightning McQueen. Bringing him and the family there would be a fun trip! I’m sorry, our household do not watch Disney channel kasi or Disney movies that much so pili lang ang knows namin, so we’re not into going to Disney Land just yet. Maybe in the future! But Cars Land at Disney California Adventure would bring us all so much joy!

3. Buy all the milk he might need for a year

nutramigen

This may seem odd for you, but his milk is costing our family fortunes every month! If only I can breastfeed him happily, I would still be doing so. But because of his allergies and potential allergies, it was such an unhappy experience for me. SO, assuming that he still can’t take any other form of milk. I would buy him the formula he needs for a good year. Wondering how much it cost to formula feed a sensitive, eczema baby in the Philippines? Each can of Nutramigen costs us P900/400g (or was it 450g? Something like that). He can go through 2-3 cans per week. And yes, it comes in only one size. So, if we buy 10 cans of milk per month, do the math. Ouch right? So BREASTFEED YOUR BABIES if they’re perfectly fine to breastfeed! My gosh!

4. Get him all the best gears to help ease his allergies and keep his living space perfect.

rainbow

I’m talking about buying Rainbow Cleaning System. Getting the best air purifier for all our rooms. Buying the best and most energy efficient AC units (because we’re almost using the AC 24/7 with him) so our electricity bill does not drive us insane every month. Getting 100% Cotton USA sheets (in WHITE, the dare devil in me says!) because it’s good for babies with sensitive skin.

5. The rest will be put into his own savings account.

This will be for his future homeschooling needs or if we decide to enroll him and Jacob to traditional school. Who knows! But yes, as soon as the four things above are done. Whatever is left goes here.

I don’t have a baby so if for some reason, I came across a one million win, I’d spend it all on me. Yay! Just kidding. In all seriousness, good luck!! And sorry to hear about the dengue, glad he’s ok.

I like the Cars land. I know my kids would love it! =) I’m wondering at the degree of your son’s eczema, because my eldest had it. With continious lotion/ keeping it moisturized, there are times that it seems he doesn’t have it. It is triggered by eating too much chicken, though. I’ve observed that, when he eats chicken for X consecutive days, the eczema shoots up. =)
